The Tallow Standard: one ingredient, written down

Buying hotel soap for a guest house or longer-stay rental starts with the bathrooms you supply. Choose where each bar goes and plan how it will be replaced.

Tallow Soap’s solid 4 oz bar is an option for those showers and sinks. It uses one soapmaking fat: grass-fed beef tallow. Fragrance free, made in the USA.

Here is how to buy soap for a longer-stay property.

Start with how your guests use the room

Count the bathrooms and the sinks. Note how long a typical stay runs. Decide where a bar goes: shower, bath, hand-wash sink, or all three.

Then decide your housekeeping rule for checkout. What happens to a bar that has been opened when a guest leaves? Write the rule down so every cleaner follows the same one.

Why a full-size bar suits a longer stay

Place a full-size bar where it will be used, record when it needs replacing and keep a reserve for replenishment. Stay length, occupancy and use all affect that plan.

Tallow Soap adds no fragrance or masking agents. That is a formulation fact you can include in your guest information.

Plan the reserve

Keep your spare stock in one place: cool, dry, out of direct sun, away from laundry steam. Date each box when it arrives and open the oldest first. Tallow Soap recommends using bars within two years. Issue 17 covers storage in full.

Work out how much to order

Every property is different, so measure your own. Note the date each bar goes into a room and the date it is replaced. A month of records is a starting sample. Review it across changes in occupancy and season.

The How Much Do I Need tool estimates supply from headcount and usage type. Rooms are not people, so allow for occupancy and guest turnover. Compare the estimate with your replenishment records. Issue 26 walks through the math.

Buy through the right route

For soap your property uses itself, apply for a business account. Tax-exempt checkout is available where applicable. Wholesale is a separate route, for businesses that resell the soap. If guests use the bars during their stay, that is property use, not resale. Apply for property-use purchasing at business.tallowsoap.com.

Bars that stay in good shape

Give every bathroom a draining dish, set away from the shower spray. A bar that dries between uses lasts longer in the room. Issue 10 covers care for the bar in use.

The checklist

  • Full-size 4 oz bar, one per bathroom position you supply.
  • A written housekeeping rule for checkout.
  • A draining dish in every bathroom.
  • One dated reserve, oldest box first.
  • Usage records to guide replenishment, reviewed as occupancy changes.
  • The right purchasing route: business account for property use, wholesale for resale.
